Given conditions
The identity of Hadong tea needed to be introduced in a Busan neighbourhood without relying on conventional decorative symbols, while product discovery and the time of waiting for tea unfolded across two floors.

TEA HOUSE · DESIGN PROPOSAL · Suyeong, Busan, South Korea · 2025
PROJECT STORY
From discovery on the ground floor to a deeper tea experience above, a white envelope, transparent materials and layered fabric propose a slower rhythm for Hadong tea. These are design-stage visualisations and may differ from the built result.
DESIGN RESPONSE
The identity of Hadong tea needed to be introduced in a Busan neighbourhood without relying on conventional decorative symbols, while product discovery and the time of waiting for tea unfolded across two floors.
An irregular white surface inspired by moon jars and a terracotta stair form the entrance, while transparent and translucent materials and fabric express clarity and gradual infusion within.
A light first encounter downstairs develops into a deeper tea experience above, translating the attitude and time of repeated infusion rather than copying the literal form of tradition.
