JUGYO STATION

CAFE · ADAPTIVE REUSE

PROJECT STORY

A long urban canopy shaped as an open station.

We opened up a building that had been divided into small commercial units for more than 30 years, connecting arrival, bakery, counter, seating and outdoor terrace as one continuous sequence.

DESIGN RESPONSE

01 · CONDITION

Given conditions

Several long-vacant units and an ageing envelope needed to become one place capable of supporting a large café operation and a new scene in the city.

02 · DECISION

Design decision

After reviewing demolition, structure and major renovation conditions, we opened the dividing walls. Architecture, interiors and construction were coordinated so arrival, bakery, counter, seating and terrace could be read as one flow beneath the long canopy.

03 · RESULT

Completed change

The fragmented units became an open station linking indoor and outdoor scenes, bringing daily operation and the visitor's stay into one spatial order.
