ARIRANG DOWON

CAFE & BAKERY

PROJECT STORY

A landscape shaped within a vast interior.

We brought a scene of mountains and water, planting and light into a tall, dark structure. From the entrance and counter to the seating areas, the character of the space unfolds through changing heights and distances.

DESIGN RESPONSE

01 · CONDITION

Given conditions

In this large-scale café, arrival, ordering, exploration and rest needed to form one coherent experience rather than a series of disconnected moments.

02 · DECISION

Design decision

We placed a void and waterscape at the centre, translating the landscape of Irworobongdo through ink-dark walls, planting and light.

03 · RESULT

Completed change

The central landscape can be shared from every level, allowing visitors to read the sequence of the space naturally.
